Mark - Healthy Life Style change

As mentioned in a previous post Mark has begun a "Life Style Change" and is doing very good so far!
Keep it up Honey!

5 years ago Mark chose to stop drugs and has been clean ever since. No relapse.

Over 2 years ago he chose to quit smoking. He barely remembers being a smoker now days.
Unfortunately, he chose to quit smoking when I was pregnant and he kept up with my eating! As most smokers quitting he gained some "pound-age"!

On June 1st he decided to begin a "Life Style Change".
He has changed his diet to consist of meat (much like the Atkins's diet), fruits, nuts and veggies. No starch, no wheat, no sugars and very little carbs.

In the first 7 days he lost 7 pounds.

Then he had this Great Idea....

He approached the staff at his work and asked if others would be interested in participating in his health change. Some were in fact on board.

Mark then seen an opportunity to fund raise money for the Drop-In Center.
If you know us, you know that this stuff is right up our alley!
The Great Idea was introduced to the Directors at the Drop-In and they were very excited. So much so that they are currently looking to set up a Work Out Area.

The next part to the Great Idea for fundraising is right here!
Mark is looking for sponsors for his weight loss.
He would like you to sponsor him per pound loss over the next 90 days (ending on September 1st, 2010).
The way this works goes like this.
Let's say you sponsor him $1 / pound. He looses 26 pounds in the next 90 days and you write a cheque for $26.
Sounds good eh?...There's more!

You get a tax receipt if your sponsored amount is above $10!

Update on Mark's project!

Things are going great.
Mark's clothes are starting to hang off of him...shopping soon for the buy I think!
He is very dedicated to the healthy life style.
He has not yet had a backache since starting this change.

He is working very hard to set up an exercise area at his work for the staff and clients alike. There are great things to come. I'll keep you posted!

Well Mark is doing very well and working very hard at being healthy.
In Kelowna we have been going for a work out every morning after breakfast.

Before we left to come here Mark was 30 pounds down!

Well...
Mark has now completed his summer weight loss fundraiser.
In total he has lost Grace!

He is 35lbs down and still going strong!

We are still eating our "caveman diet" as Mark likes to call it and have grown accustomed to it!
We have also starting working out and walking lots more.

I'll keep you posted and hope to find a bit more time to add some more of our food concoctions!

    He is sticking to the healthy eating and so far 14 lbs have been shed!

  2. Mark is now over 1 month in. He is still very dedicated and doing very good. We have been trying all kinds of recipes especially for vegetables and eat well.
    To date (as of last week) Mark loss 21 lbs!
    Keep going Mark!
